The aim of the nationwide social campaign “Solidarity with Seniors” is to increase public awareness of the situation of Seniors, in the era of the prevailing coronavirus epidemic, and above all to support seniors isolated from the world in our country, through help, reliable information, education and activation.
The campaign “Solidarity with Seniors” implemented from mid-March 2020, includes the following activities:
1. Activation and Educational Support Packages
Due to the fact that we are able to reach only 25% of seniors through on-line channels, and social isolation and cut-off from the world is a huge threat to the life and health of seniors, we decided to send Support Packages to seniors by post. So far, we have delivered over 40,000 Support Packages to individual seniors and to over 200 institutions – municipal offices, senior clubs, GOK, OPS, DPS MOPR, ZOL, KGW in many cities and provinces. We have reached over 150 cities, including those outside Poland, incl. Vilnius, Grodno, Soleczniki, Kiejdany Lviv, Zhytomyr, Odessa, Vinnitsa, Pyatigorsk, Vienna, London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Hamilton. Everywhere we have delivered our educational and activation Support Packages. The Support Package includes, among others Senior Voice magazine, mask, book by Master Sobiesław Zasada and dietary supplements from our partner – Adamed.
If you want to get the Senior Support Package, write to us at: email@example.com or call (12) 429 37 28
2. Publishing of special editions of the Senior Voice Magazine
This year, we published 5 issues of the Senior Voice Magazine. Each of them was largely devoted to the subject of the current situation, but also to support through activation, education, integration, competitions, good practices, expert advice. During the campaign, 125,000 special Senior Voices were distributed to support seniors during the pandemic (5 issues x 25,000 paper versions, another 25,000 electronic versions in mailing).

3. Senior Voice TV – WELCOME TO OUR INTERNET TELEVISION
The project consists in the production, promotion and broadcasting of special film materials dedicated to seniors. These include advice and interviews with specialists, experts and our ambassadors, as well as entertainment programs (including advice from a geriatrician, cardiologist, psychologist or Patient Ombudsman). This year alone, we have produced over 60 pro-senior programs (education, activation and counseling), which have already reached over 500,000 people via our social media. seniors.

4. We sew masks for those in need together with seniors
We send seniors materials, encouraging them to sew masks. Then we distribute them to needy seniors, hospitals, Nursing Homes and municipalities (over 30,000 masks).
5. Stop Manipulation Action – Don’t be fooled and Stop the Crown-Scams.
Out of concern for the safety of seniors, we are running a campaign entitled “Stop Crown-Fraud” as part of the ongoing “Stop Manipulation – Don’t Get Fooled!” Campaign. The aim of the action is to raise awareness of the risk of various types of frauds among the elderly during a pandemic. In this way, we warn Seniors against manipulators and advise how not to be deceived.
6. A pet as a medicine for loneliness – promoting animal adoption
The idea behind the campaign is to promote adoption over a pet, which is a phenomenal solution for lonely or elderly people, especially in the era of the coronavirus epidemic, when seniors are completely isolated. Working with KTOZ Shelter for Homeless Animals in Krakow, we publish weekly information on the possibility of adopting dogs and cats from a local shelter in our social media. Thus, several animals found a new home:
7. Buy only Polish products – support for the Polish economy
In addition to supporting seniors, we want to involve them in supporting the Polish economy. We promote economic patriotism among seniors and their families and the purchase of Polish products – made in Poland and, if possible – sold in Polish stores, as well as the use of Polish services.
8. Shopping and telephone for a senior – promotion of neighborhood help
The action aims to promote neighborly and intergenerational help. We and our partner media promote the “Do shopping for seniors” campaign, encouraging you to print our poster, enter your phone number and declare your readiness to help seniors (e.g. shopping, including medicines, walking the dog, talking on the phone) in the pandemic era.
PROMOTED APPEALS AND POSTULATES
Taking care of both the physical and mental health of the elderly, we conduct activities and encourage you to support our postulates:
1) WE OVERCOME THE VIRUS WITH ACTIVITY
As part of the Solidarity with Seniors campaign, we appeal to the media and local governments: let us rationalize the message, do not scare seniors and activate it, taking away from the subject of the virus. Do not be afraid to leave the house and (while maintaining the current sanitary restrictions), let us take care of our immunity and mental and physical condition through activity.
2) STOP CROWN-FRAUD
Out of concern for the safety of seniors, we are running a campaign “Stop Crown-Fraud” as part of the ongoing “Stop Manipulation – Don’t Get Fooled!” Campaign. The aim of the action is to raise awareness of the risk of various types of frauds among the elderly during a pandemic. In this way, we warn Seniors against manipulators and advise how not to be deceived. https://www.facebook.com/StopManipalizacjiNieDajSieOszukac
3) GIVE US THE WHEELCHAIR
As part of the campaign Solidarity with Seniors together, we organize a nationwide campaign “Give us the wheelchair.” In attics or garages, forgotten, unnecessary wheelchairs, walkers or crutches are often deposited. Please hand them over to us, and we will hand them over to the hands of need as part of the Solidarity with Seniors campaign. One of the carts went to prof. Wojciech Narębski – a soldier of the 2nd Corps of General Władysław Anders, one of the last living participants of the fight for Monte Cassino.
4) KNOW YOUR SENIOR NEIGHBOR
We promote neighborly help for seniors in need and appeal to all people to join the action of supporting the senior neighbor. If you want to join the action, you should print a ready poster on our website (https://glosseniora.pl/solidarni-z-seniorami/), enter a contact number and hang it on the staircase or put it in a lonely person’s mailbox, wait for the notification senior, and then help the person with shopping, walking the dog or talking on the phone.
