Active Elderly Service Center, affiliated with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, brings elderly individuals together with sports, physical therapy, art and social activities. Both physical and mental support are provided to elderly individuals who see the center as their second home, which has started to serve again with the normalization process. Active Elderly Service Center, affiliated to the Metropolitan Municipality Social Services Department, continues its services, which it took a break within the scope of pandemic measures, with normalization. Elderly individuals who experience social isolation during the pandemic process are enjoying the joy of socializing together again.
CENTER IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE
At the Active Elderly Service Center located in Atatürk Culture Park, activities aimed at increasing the quality of life are offered to individuals over the age of 65 in an environment where they can feel better. In the center, which aims to support healthy, successful and active aging, artistic and cultural activities, exercise and sports activities, gerontological consultancy services are provided in company with expert staff. Elderly people are provided with both physical and mental support.
I COME RUNNING
Expressing that she is very happy with the re-opening of the center, Seyla Atasever said, “We had good and quality days at the Active Elderly Service Center, which I attended for the first time last year. We do many activities from handicrafts to sports. Our social togetherness here has been very valuable for us. He has added so many good things to our souls. I was happy that it was reopened and I came running here today,” he said.
THIS WAS OUR SECOND HOME
Expressing that she sees the Active Elderly Service Center as their second home, Gülnur Çöl said, “I have been coming to the center with my wife for two years. For our age group, there are activities such as sports, music, foreign language and painting at the center. For example, we have a theater group and we are planning to stage a play. This has become our second home. We have made great friendships and we are very happy to be here. We thank the Metropolitan Municipality for providing us with such a service.”
